So Bizzeh

I woke up angry this morning. You know me so you know this isn't so unusual. I thought getting a few things off my chest might ease the rage.

Here are a couple of things that caused little fissures of fury this week:

1. Teenage try-hard Australian pop idols who, in a pained, terribly earnest, hand-on-heart way say this things like this 'It just goes to show that dreams can come true, you just need to believe in yourself and you can do anything'. WRONG. Someone who is 4ft is NOT going to play in the NBL. I am NOT going to be a rock star. Among other possible random examples.

2. My performance appraisal final comment: 'You've managed a very complex region for quite some time now, but in the last year you've gone from strength to strength. You have increased your knowledge of travel trends, maintained excellent relationships with your authors, and created great new first editions. Your enthusiasm and honesty in approaching the changes to the CE role have been greatly appreciated. Thanks for being so ace.'
Condescending corporate bullshit which constitutes a demeaning pat on the head and has no bearing on real life, ie money. What a crock.

3. People who don't press the button at traffic lights. How do I know when to cross the road? That's what the fucking green man is for. If you're not going to press the button, get out of the fucking way.

I'm now going to try to concentrate on things that make me happy. Like food and booze and this:

The platonic life partner

What?
Exactly.
It's this, if you're interested.
I find this concept intriguing. How does it work? Why the label? Why can't you just be life-long friends.
The platonic bit is confusing. Hmmm.
How does the committment bit work? Like, you live together and share your life like you would with someone who you have sex with but you don't have sex. This confuses me too.
It must be said that I'm one for pigeon holes, so my poor little boxed up brain is trying.
It really is.

Even though I don't really understand how it all works, I started thinking about who my platonic life partner might be.
It's an interesting thing to be thinking about on a Friday afternoon.
