A comment on television

This is how bad Australian television was last night: I was 'forced' to watch some of the 'Hey Hey it's Saturday' comedy special. When I say forced you know what I mean, I'm aware that I could read a book or listen to a CD and flick through the paper, but come on - I work all day and I rely on entertaining, mildly engaging and stimulating tv to fill up the hours between 6pm and when it's vaguely acceptable to be caught in bed on a weeknight (say, 9.45pm). Anyway, I watched 'Hey Hey' and the inanity made me nauseous. At one point Darryl Sommers introduced a Jackie whateverhernameis montage and mentioned that when she first came to the show she didn't think she had anything to offer - he was right, she doesn't. She was an idiot and probably still is an idiot. I know I shouldn't have watched any of it.
Anyway, then I watched a documentary on SBS about methanphetamine after that. Where the fuck do all the facial sores come from? I mean I know crystal meth can make you skinny and skanky but sheesh - the open sores on the face are a bit of a turn off.
I went to bed and read a book after that. Lachlan, you'll be happy to hear I'm reading an American Classic 'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac. So far, so good.

I did it

So what now? Well, I figure that I've wasted so much time so far worrying about what my first post on my first ever blog would be that it doesn't really matter. That said, it can't be beyond lame so I'm going to resort to tried and true blog antics and insert a photo or two. These are from a recent canoe trip down the Goulburn river. About 20 of us and 10 canoes, three days, two nights and lots of wine. Fucking great.

I'm a total luddite and loading those pictures took me about a week so that's all.

Look at this www.jcbsong.co.uk/jcbvideo.asp it's cute and it will make you happy (unless you're an idiot).
